I could use some of that sweet pricing

The only people who are really weeping these days are the Russians, and perhaps the Alaskans, who might be facing the
first state income tax in 35 years
.

Best line in that Alaska article.
“I realize now that we have become dependent on oil.”
Really? Now I understand what Arrogance of Ignorance means..

Why would Russians be weeping? They get free coal!

And here I was thinking I've been making out like a bandit with the $1.59 I've been paying the past month. Heh.

The Russian government, to be more exact. This slump in prices is
wreaking havoc on their economy

The giant sucking sound you hear in the distance is the ruble circling the drain.

IIRC their economy is built on $110/bbl oil. This $36 stuff has gotta be hurting. But Pooty is still spending big ruble on his military. Give that another year (?) before crunch time comes.

I don’t need to weep anymore. Elon Musk made the Tesla. :P

According to the story I linked, Pooty-poot is burning through his rainy day fund at an alarming rate. If oil doesn’t rebound soon, or sanctions end, Russia will be out of money.

And here I thought that noise was Jeb Bush sucking up to the press.

Is that at Shell? The only reason you get that discount is because you use more fuel per month to qualify for that discount! I don’t. And despite the fact I don’t get a discount, I spend less on fuel per month than you do with your discount I bet.

It’s a rewards program through Stop & Shop, has nothing to do with spending money on gas. Every dollar I spend on groceries is a gas point, every 100 points is $0.10 off per gallon. This particular discount was higher than usual, I normally only get about $0.80 off. With the amount of driving I do I go just about two weeks between fillups. So, we’ll say $40-$50/month on gas.
